Overview

Located in the heart of Harlem at 2754 Frederick Douglass Blvd, The Oma Shop II Coffee + Lifestyle stands out as a refined destination that beautifully blends a coffee shop, lifestyle space, and an attached barbershop. This unique hybrid concept offers more than just your typical caffeine fix—it's a place where community, culture, and calm converge.

The menu highlights draw you in with thoughtful simplicity and quality. Their muffins and chocolate almond croissants deliver a satisfying balance of texture and flavor, ideal for pairing with their standout hibiscus iced tea—a refreshing, floral choice that feels both vibrant and soothing. In the evening, the focus shifts to a well-curated selection of drinks and small plates. Whether you opt for a delicate oolong tea from Taiwan or a carefully chosen Merlot blend, there’s a sophistication that elevates the usual coffee shop experience. Complementary savory options like the pesto mozzarella focaccia or the whipped goat cheese plate with anchovies and focaccia add layers of depth to your visit.

The atmosphere is where The Oma Shop II truly shines. Soft, unobtrusive music creates a serene backdrop, enhancing a classic yet peaceful vibe that invites visitors to linger, work, or socialize. The interior design is minimalistic but stylish, emphasizing space without feeling crowded. Clean, roomy restrooms and ample seating reflect attention to comfort, even if some might find the chairs less cozy for long laptop sessions. This thoughtful design caters well to creatives, remote workers, and locals seeking a sophisticated yet welcoming spot.

The community aspect adds another layer of richness. As multiple visitors note, the staff—particularly Sophia and Imani—bring warmth and professionalism that foster a genuine sense of belonging. The attached barbershop element introduces a culturally vibrant dimension, turning a simple coffee run into an experience rooted in connection and heritage. This makes it a sought-after location for Harlem’s diverse and dynamic community, especially those craving an inclusive, respectful environment.

In summary, The Oma Shop II Coffee + Lifestyle is more than just a coffee shop. It’s a holistic lifestyle venue that embodies New York’s urban pulse while offering a peaceful haven to unwind, create, and engage. Whether you’re stopping by for a standout pastry, an evening drink, or a haircut, this spot delivers a harmonious blend of quality, culture, and comfort.

Clean and classy soft music . I am happy to say this experience was breathtakingly peaceful and nice classic vibe . We need more Places like this Sophia was beautiful inside and out and very professional. Being an African American male in New York I have felt uncomfortable if I have extended my time as a customer at other coffee shops by doing work and having coffee. This place makes you feel at home and we need to start supporting this business . Please come and enjoy the atmosphere Sophia thanks for being nice and kind to me today

This is a cool cafe. The coffee and hot chocolate are good (I haven't eaten there yet, but the menu looks nice), and the interior decor is stylish and minimal. There is a long seating area, and it doesn't feel crowded, and the restroom was clean and spacious. The attached hair salon adds a positive layer of intrigue to an already chic setup. I'll be returning...

A very cool and unique coffee shop / barber / market. I needed a quiet place to work and this place delivered. The matcha was tasty and overall a great experience. The seating isn’t the most comfortable if you’re on your laptop but that’s def not a show stopper. Would love to come again

First time visiting this coffee shop, and i enjoyed the drinks, i had cafe au lait and my daughter had hibiscus ice tea, i missed to take a photo of the apple turn over, not really my fave but my daughter enjoyed her blueberry muffin. I like the place, my verizon Data Signal was low within the sitting area which is a bummer but i managed. The bathroom is also clean which is a big plus. Finding The Oma Shop and Big Imani has been nothing short of a blessing. As a queer Black man, it’s not always easy to find spaces that feel truly safe, affirming, and luxurious—but The Oma Shop is all that and more. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with warmth, care, and an energy that tells you this is home. Big Imani is more than just a barber—she’s a healer, an artist, and a master of her craft. I recently experienced Oma Cure Day, and it was more than just a grooming service; it was a full-body and soul restoration. Every detail, from the precision of the cut to the atmosphere of the shop, is designed with intention and excellence. If you’re looking for a place that prioritizes not just how you look, but how you feel, The Oma Shop is the spot. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment—you won’t regret it. #TheOmaShop #OmaCureDay #SafeSpacesMatter #BlackExcellence
